You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to be able to post this update.
Honestly, as soon as I heard the announcement, it finally felt like there was a way forwards for myself. With that said, I am so happy to announce that as of the 25th July 2020, I will be available for hire as a close up magician for your outside parties and events!
Perhaps you’re having a socially distanced Gathering for a 40th Birthday, maybe you’re celebrating your anniversary with your nearest and dearest in the safety of your own garden, or perhaps you’re getting married and want to do a little bit of something after the official parts are done (provided within the rules and guidelines set out by the Government following the COVID-19 outbreak), then I’m your man to provide the fun!
What measures is Mark taking to keep people safe?
The pandemic is a major thing, so I’m taking the safety of everyone extremely seriously. At every booking, I will have a face covering on hand. Use of the mask will be at the discretion of you, the booker (unless upon my arrival I feel the only safe option is to wear a mask, in which case a mask will be worn at all times).
The tricks have been reviewed. So basically, I’ve gone through the act the best I can to limit physical contact. I’ll be honest, it’s impossible for me to be completely hands off, so I will always operate with plenty of hand sanitiser in my pocket. This hand sanitiser will be used by myself throughout the performance, and will also be offered to anyone who participates. Certain tricks have been taken out of the act for now (like the sponge rabbits, and the tricks where the cards end up in my mouth) as there is no way to safely do these without risk.
The suit is being dry cleaned after every single performance. Also, I won’t change into the suit until I arrive at your venue, to limit any chance of spreading anything. As soon as the performance is over, I will change back into my normal clothes. On days where I have multiple performances, I’ll bring multiple sets of clothing. This means sometimes rather than being in a three-piece suit, I will be in smart jeans, shirt and jacket. So slightly more casual, but still professional and snazzy.
What about if I decide to postpone my event due to an outbreak?
That’s absolutely fine. Times are uncertain so I am happy to postpone any event for up to 12 months after indoor gatherings are allowed to recommence.
Deposits will not be refundable, but will be honoured against the balance due when it comes to the new date.
If you have paid the full balance before the decision is made to cancel, whilst I’m unable to refund, it will be held for the rescheduled date.
In the case that the event is not rebooked for within 12 months of recommending of indoor gatherings, then any monies paid will be forfeited.
It’s the responsibility of the client to inform me that the party has to be postponed.
Wedding bookings will be considered at the moment for 2020, but availability will be in line with government guidelines.
If I am unable to perform due to personal COVID symptoms arising, I will do my best to provide a suitable substitute performer
I hope you can see I’m trying to be as fair as possible at the moment, whilst still attempting to run a business during these unprecedented times.
I’m really looking forward to being able to perform again. I’ve missed the rush of performing at events, and after 4 months of not being able to, I’m itching to get started again. Please do get in touch with your plans, and I’ll do everything I can to make sure I can perform at your celebration!
